How it started
Get Smart Landscaping has been a leading landscape and garden design company, providing a range of services to Sydney for more than 26 years.
Starting with two men and a ute, Get Smart now has a dedicated team of over 20 staff. Marty believes the success of Get Smart lies in hiring (and keeping) passionate and knowledgeable staff with a wide range of horticultural & landscaping experience, a dedication to meeting each and every brief whilst staying on budget and on time and an abiding commitment to providing excellent customer service.

MARTY ROBERTS
Managing Director
Marty Roberts has over 30 years experience in the Landscaping industry. His passion for plants & landscaping was inspired by a childhood spent growing up, and helping out on a sheep and cattle farm in the Marlborough Sounds along New Zealand’s stunning coastline. He attended Christchurch University where he obtained an Agriculture and Horticulture Degree. After 6 years working for the largest stock and station agent in New Zealand, he relocated to Sydney, starting Get Smart in 1992.

Rob Cairns
Project Manager
Rob has over 27 years experience in the Horticultural & Landscaping industry. Upon finishing his schooling in Sydney, he completed his nursery apprenticeship, gaining a broad knowledge of plants, pests, diseases and soils.
With this experience, he moved into the landscaping area completing his apprenticeship with Get Smart.
Wanting to further his knowledge Rob completed his diploma in Landscaping & Bush Regeneration Certificate giving him a broad knowledge of design and construction as well as exotic and native plants. Working with Marty for over 13 years, he has gained a great deal of knowledge and experience over a wide range of sites.
Robs professionalism and commitment is shown throughout the company and all of Get Smarts jobs.
